The Take 9 Virtual Youth Film Festival (Take 9) was established in 2021 with the mission to dedicate space for Asian American and Pacific Islander filmmakers.
Hosted by Asian Culture and Media Alliance (ACMA), Take 9 API Youth Film Festival is the first and only film festival that focuses on highlighting the diverse stories of aspiring filmmakers ages 18-25 in the United States.
Our objective is to create and provide a virtual and interactive platform to showcase films that are written, produced and directed by API youth. Through this festival, we wish to promote, support, empower and encourage better understandings of our API communities and cultures through film, as well as provide professional networking opportunities and resources for aspiring filmmakers in media arts.
Take 9 is organized by Asian Culture & Media Alliance (ACMA), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 2013 to create a voice of unity, awareness, and empowerment for Asian American and Pacific Islanders through film, television, and new media. For information about ACMA, please visit www.acmasocal.org.
The 2021 Take 9 Festival will tentatively be held from September 1st – September 4th.
Submissions will open late Spring 2021, and consist of three registration windows.
